Big Sky Trail (lollipop loop)

START TIME – We’ll meet at 8:00 AM at the parking area (described below) in Simi Valley. NOTE: Sunrise is at 7:06 AM.
DESCRIPTION OF HIKE: Moderate 4.5 miles with 815’ of elevation gain/loss. We’ll start our hike by walking a quarter of a mile along Erringer Road to the actual trailhead for the Big Sky Trail and then head east to the loop which we will hike in a counterclockwise direction.
PREPAREDNESS: Bring 2-3 liters/quarts of water (or other suitable liquid) and lunch/snack. Wear appropriate footwear (preferably hiking boots) and be prepared for bright sunlight (sunglasses), heat (layers of clothing), and/or precipitation (rain gear). Hiking pole(s) and a camera might come in handy.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE PARKING AREA -- NOTE: You should be at this location by 8:00 AM
o Take Hwy 118 to the Erringer Road exit.
o Head north 0.2 mile on Erringer Road (passing Alamo Street) to Big Sky Place (just before the entrance to the Big Sky housing development).
o Turn right on Big Sky Place, park on the left (west) side of the street close to its junction with Erringer Road, and wait for the hiking leader(s).
